The format of the Korsakow-Show was invented and developed by Florian Thalhofer in 2008 for “Hilfe, Freiheit!” (“Help, Freedom!”), a project curated by Tobias Hülswitt. The first series of 15 talk-shows were shown at Kammerspiele, München between 2008 – 2010. The series dealt with the problems that modern societies face with individual freedom.
Korsakow shows from this series were also shown in Berlin (Sep. 8, 2009) and Caracas (Mar. 18, 2010).
Thalhofer and Hülswitt also collaborated on seven Korsakow shows that were made in Prague (2010/2011).
In 2011 Tobias Hülswitt, Roman Brinzanik and Gunther Kreis licencenced the format and made further shows (“Werden wir ewig leben?” and “Erde Retten”).
A series of Korsakow shows on the topic of the economic crisis in Greece were shown in Athens and Thessaloniki for project GELD.GR (2012/2013).
A mini-series of Korsakow shows on the topic of migration was shown in Bucharest and Cluj in 2014.
